The Results Are In - Arnold Has No Core Values

From Roger Salazar, Communications Director, CDP Democratic Victory 2006

One thing is clear - Schwarzenegger is a uniter. Democrats, Republicans and Independents are united in their assessment that Governor Schwarzenegger will do and say anything to get reelected... (read the rest)

Where is Arnold?

Apparently, after nearly three years in office, Arnold is still confused about where real Californians live. But he doesn't seem too confused about where the big money lives, does he?

From Roger Salazar, Communications Director, CDP Victory 2006:

The Schwarzenegger-Bush Campaign Team released a new campaign ad titled "Where."

They want to know where real Californians live. Unfortunately they don't live in a penthouse at the Hyatt like Governor Schwarzenegger does.

Instead they are forced to deal with the Bush-Schwarzenegger agenda every day - tax cuts that benefit only the wealthiest, skyrocketing gas prices, cuts to college loan programs, a 100% increase in college tuition fees and deficit spending with no plan to balance our state's budget.

Where was Arnold Schwarzenegger in November of 2004? Proudly campaigning for the reelection of President George W. Bush in Ohio, but today he suddenly wants to act like he never heard of the guy.

And Where will Arnold Schwarzenegger be tomorrow? Raising money from big oil executives in Austin, Texas…

Coming Soon to TV Screen Near You

Check out the two new issue ads launched today:

You

Expanding

My fave is "You" which asks the question, "Arnold is for George Bush, is he for you?" For anyone paying close attention, the easy answer to that is NO!

But if you need further reminders just how closely linked Arnold is with Bush, check out what Arnold had to say about Bush when he did some quid pro quo for him in Ohio, and when he got together with Bush, Cheney and all their Right-Wing buddies at the 2004 GOP National Convention.

Arnold: He Puts The 'Me' in Team

As far as the Republican statewide ticket this year, it looks like the Republicans don't do diversity -- or unity -- too well. Really Arnold - taking down banners from the other candidates ON THE SAME SIDE? Now that's just not nice.

From Jeff Millman, Press Secretary, CDP Victory 2006:

Just as California Democratic Party Chairman Art Torres predicted, there were no other Republican candidates to be found with Gov. Schwarzenegger during the Republican convention.

"But with a full bank of cameras and reporters on hand Saturday, none of the down-ticket candidates stood with the governor at Saturday's luncheon, and banners promoting the other candidates had been removed from the vast convention room before the governor's speech." (read the rest)

Insert Beatles Reference Here

Another good one from Roger Salazar, Communications Director, CDP Democratic Victory 2006:

Bruce McPherson recently launched his Magical Mystery Tour in earnest, bouncing around the state to small towns and Republican strongholds.

But there's really no mystery - it's all about getting reelected in November. And there's no magic, either - he avoids paying for the tour by traveling on the taxpayer's dime. (read the rest)

Santa Clara County's Democratic Reunion

Thanks to Clarence Madrilejos, Membership Director for Moorpark Democratic Club and the Lead Organizer for the Joint Democratic Clubs Picnic, for sending in this wrap-up of their Democratic Reunion event:

Over 200 Democratic Activists came together at the Joint Democratic Clubs Picnic at Rainbow Park in Westside of San Jose to kick off the next 100 days of Democratic activism. Nine of Santa Clara County Democratic Party’s most active Clubs co-hosted this great event. These were Bay Area Iranian Democratic Club, Dean Democratic Club of Silicon Valley, Democratic Activists for Women NOW (DAWN), Moorpark Democratic Club, Santa Clara County Democratic Club, Silicon Valley Asian Pacific American Democratic Club, Silicon Valley Latino Democratic Forum, Silicon Valley Young Democrats.

We had Democratic elected leaders reminding the Santa Clara County Democratic Party’s activists why this November’s election was important. Assembly candidate County Supervisor Jim Beall, Democratic Congressional candidate Jerry McNerney, State Senate candidate Assemblywoman Ellen Corbett, State Senator Elaine Alquist, Assemblywoman Rebecca Cohn, State Board of Equalization candidate Betty Yee, and San Jose Mayoral candidate Vice Mayor Cindy Chavez rallied the troop for the upcoming election. Everyone had a chance to meet and talk to elected Democrats and Democrats running for office.

Everyone in attendance all had a great time, excited to make a difference in the coming months to elect progressive Democrats from school board to city council to state and national offices.

Depends On What You Mean By “Closely Monitoring”

By Roger Salazar, Communications Director, CDP Democratic Victory 2006:

A week and a half ago found Governor Schwarzenegger cavorting with Tony Blair and his pals at British Petroleum, posing together for photo-ops at a global warming summit that an LA Times headline described as "hot air." (LA Times, August 2, 2006)

While Schwarzenegger and his BP buddies were primping for the TV cameras, someone at BP forgot to "closely monitor" their pipelines and as a result are now, "the target of a federal grand jury, the Environmental Protection Agency and congressional investigators for letting its Alaska pipeline crumble." (Associated Press, August 9, 2006) (read the rest)

Arnold's House of Waffles

Nice addition to our flip-flop page from the Angelides campaign:

Arnold Schwarzenegger has turned the Governorship into the Waffle House. His lack of any core values has resulted in a stick-your-finger-in-the-wind governorship and dozens of election year flip-flops. Now it appears that his campaign staff seems to have the same affliction.

This morning, I almost lost my Corn Flakes watching as Arnold's high-priced campaign manager, fresh from Camp Cheney, tried to rewrite California history. Apparently Steve Schmidt thinks Californians must all have amnesia.

Flip-Flops So Big, They Needed Their Own Space!

From the Official CDP Press Release:

As we approach the third anniversary of the Gubernatorial Recall, the California Democratic Party has created a web gallery of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s flip-flops and broken promises on its website, www.cadem.org.

The flip-flop gallery will be the ultimate resource of all the occasions where Arnold has betrayed the trust of the voters and changed his positions.

Because Arnold changes his positions and breaks his promises nearly every day, the California Democratic Party's IT staff has ensured the new website section will have enough server capacity and bandwidth to accommodate Arnold's large and growing list of flip-flops and broken promises.

The new web gallery can be accessed at www.cadem.org/flip-flop

Arnold's Money Pit

Roger Salazar really nailed it on this one:

"The Schwarzenegger campaign has blown millions in a desperate attempt to fool Californians into believing that the last three years of failed leadership and photo-op governance were just a bad dream."

Arnold and His Hall of Fame Flip-Flopping

From Roger Salazar, Communications Director, CDP Democratic Victory 2006:

The Governor spent the morning in Sacramento today to announce the creation of the California Hall of Fame. Too bad there’s no Hall of Fame for Flip-Flopping, or else Arnold would be a first ballot inductee.
