Tell the Media to Stop Interviewing Ann Coulter
by Faithful Progressive
c/o National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC):
Please sign NJDC's petition to urge CNN, FOX News, NBC, ABC, and CBS to stop inviting Ann Coulter as a guest to comment on politics.
Tell me more
Full Petition Text:
We are writing to ask you to refrain from inviting Ann Coulter to participate as a guest on your network's news programming.
As you know, it has long been documented that Ms. Coulter takes liberties with the facts. Furthermore, her comments -- be they about Democrats, 9/11 widows, Jews, or others -- often border on hate speech.
While Ms. Coulter has her freedom of speech, you have the freedom to exercise better judgment. You wouldn't put people who claim Martians roam the earth to frequently comment on science. It is time to stop putting Ms. Coulter on the air to comment on politics, thus giving her free publicity and attention.

I won't watch if she is a guest.

I love Ann Coulter. I don't always agree with her but she speaks her mind. She says things that infuriate people. Every time she does her bank account grows just because other people can't shut up. No one makes that much of a fuss when Al Sharpton says stupid crap like the original cowboys were black. Let Ann say one little thing and they are all up in arms. I say lets make her the supreme ruler of the universe.

Stop the Insantity and quit giving voice to this hateful woman. We have a war to win or give up on and we are trying to get together because of our differences, not inspite of. Time is to precious to listen to hate speak like this.

Leonard Pitts Jr., winner of the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for commentary, has an Op-Ed in Thursday, October 18, 2007 Philadelphia Inquirer [A21: Ignoring Coulter is a mistake].Coulter drags the 'new' conservatism towards intolerance. She plays the media like Louis Armstrong played the cornet. She is pushing us back toward that which has been discredited, i.e., racial targeting, but also opposes diversity, pluralism, tolerance. MLK noted that time is neutral: it is people who make change in time. Final words: I keep hearing that we should just ignore it. That's been tried before. It didn't work.
The above excerpts are better in prose than isolated, but his insights are worth considering.
I will NOT, do NOT, give her the time of day but do not believe for one minute that she should be opposed by someone. This is especially true when she mouthes the fundamentalist mantra about our being a Christian nation & everyone must be a christian here. That's theocracy, Dominianism: an audience being dignified through AND from the White House, Karl Rove, et al. Those who believe this shitola are the 25% that resonate abroad as 'ALL' of us. I spend too much of my travel time explaining that this is the fringe, etc. when I'd like to forget altogether. Trouble is, we cannot.

I pity Ann Coulter. It must be horrible to live with that much hate.
Perhaps she should seek therapy instead of the glare of fame.

Ann Coulter's theology was slgithly off. She believes that Jews would make it to heaven the long way, but Christians are on the fast track. What verse did that come from?
Next time Ann makes a public statement on Christians and Jews, she should be well versed on the following:
ACTS 4:11-13
He is 'the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the capstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
ROM. 9:1-3
I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit— I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race . . .
ROM. 10:1-4
Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
1 Jn 5:11-13
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Ann, Stick to politics and not matters of faith. Otherwise, spend sometime in the Bible before you start discussing the differences between Christians and Jews.
