I was saddened to learn of the death this morning of former Vice Presidential nominee, former Senator and Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen. He is perhaps best remembered for delivering the line to Dan Quayle, “Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy" during a Vice Presidential debate in 1988. He was involved in “some of the most important legislative battles of the second half of the 20th century.” Click here to read his Vice Presidential nomination acceptance speech given at the 1988 Democratic National Convention.
