CRAWFORD, TEXAS FOR KERRY
Bush Jr.’s hometown newspaper in Crawford, “The Lone Star Inconoclast” has endorsed John Kerry for president. The four reasons the paper cited for endorsing Kerry were:
The mess in Iraq
The poor U.S. economy
Civil liberties
Bush’s proposed deregulation of the social security system

BUSH JR. “BLASTS” POWELL, BLAIR, THE CIA AND THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY AS “PESSIMISTS”
As more and more news comes out about the bleak possibilities in Iraq, and as Colin Powell, Tony Blair and others acknowledge things are getting worse in Iraq, Bush Jr. calls them all pessimists.
Most of these people are the same ones who warned Bush Jr. not to go into Iraq.

LA TIMES CALLS BUSH JR. A COWARD
The September 28th LA Times editorial stated, “compared with Kerry, George W. Bush is a coward.”
The editorial basically rips Bush Jr. for his unpatriotic attacks on John Kerry, including the swift boat liars (real combat veterans don’t attack others for their combat duty), and for questioning all of us for pointing out Bush Jr. has our troops trapped in a cul de sac in Iraq.

BUSH JR. CAN’T FIND AFRICA ON A MAP
In the Darfur region of Sudan in Africa hundreds of thousands of people have been pushed off their land, thousands of women raped and possibly 50,000 killed so far.
As so many people are screaming for freedom, Bush Jr. is at another Republican fundraiser.
Another tragedy of the Bush Jr. administration.

DEBATE THIS THURSDAY
The first presidential debate is this Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. California time regarding foreign affairs and homeland security. There are a lot of democratic debate watch parties around the country. Check with your local democrats to see if there is one in your neighborhood – The California Democratic Party urges you to attend one - local media are being invited.
It will be a great time to cheer John Kerry, who understand “security” as a combat veteran, a U.S. Senator and as a world traveler, and boo Bush Jr., who went fishing on August 6, 2001 when he was warned by the CIA about a planned attack on the U.S. by Osama bin Laden, and was deficient in his service in the military.

OIL AND WATER DON’T MIX
And neither does oil and Wall Street.
Bush Jr.’s friends in the oil business and Bush Jr.’s ineptness in foreign policy drives oil to $50 a barrel. Millions of Americans are spending money they don’t have to buy gas and seeing their 401 pension funds become 301’s and in some cases 201’s.
This is not away to run a country -- on the backs of the middle class.

BUSH JR. CAUGHT IN ANOTHER LIE
Bush Jr. has told the American people several times this year that military morale is “fine” and recruitment is “above the needed level.”
But over the weekend, the Army National Guard admitted recruitment will be 5,000 people short this year – that’s about a third of a division.
A goal of 56,000 was expected, but they will only hit 51,000.
One of the major reasons cited by the Guard: Bush Jr.’s orders to keep Guard units in Iraq and Afghanistan for so long.
Bush Jr.’s policies are not only hurting morale and recruitment, but they are putting U.S. security at risk by downsizing the military.

COLIN POWELL: “GETTING WORSE”
In a TV interview on Sunday, Powell said, “Yes, it’s (Iraq) getting worse.”
Meanwhile the U.S. military announced they have arrested a senior member of the Iraqi National Guard for suspected links with insurgents. The same thing happened in Vietnam – some of the top VC military leaders were “working” directly with the U.S. military.
That’s why “military intelligence” is an oxymoron.

BUSH JR. FLIP-FLOPS AGAIN!
An American citizen, Yaser Esam Hamdi, was captured in Afghanistan and Bush Jr. deemed him so dangerous that he ordered Hamdi to be held incommunicado and without charges for three years as an enemy combatant.
Now Bush Jr. is releasing him with no hard feelings and even providing Hamdi with a U.S. military plane to fly him to Saudi Arabia. In other words, an all expense paid trip. Why not a regular plane – is this an attempt by Bush Jr. to keep Hamdi away from the press?
We will probably never know all the facts, but it demonstrates another flip-flop by Bush Jr. and gives our troops more reason to doubt Bush Jr.’s abilities.

Prime Minister Ayad Allawi told the New York Times (9/23/04) that the rise in attacks in Iraq was proof that the insurgents were getting weaker. Yes, weaker, he said!
So if the violence decreases, using Allawi and Bush Jr.’s logic, it would mean the insurgents were getting stronger?

NEW POLLS SHOW SCHWARZENEGGER & CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS IN DEEP TROUBLE
The latest out today Public Policy Institute of California’s and the L.A. Times statewide polls of likely voters shows:
PPIC Poll
Kerry 51% (+12)
Bush Jr. 39%
LA Times Poll
Kerry 55% (+ 15)
Bush Jr. 40%
The July, August and now September polls by PPIC, have shown that Bush Jr. has never reached 40% in California.
PPIC Poll
Sen. Boxer 54% (+18)
Bill Jones 36%
For months, the California Republicans have been telling reporters they were out-organizing California Democrats and that Bush Jr. and Jones were very close in internal polls in California.
Schwarzenegger has made Bush Jr. and Bill Jones big priorities for him in California.
Those “internal” polls must be taken at the Republican headquarters or their pollster is the tooth fairy!
Californians just don’t like Bush Jr. and the Republicans.

MILITARY “GENERALS” BLAST BUSH JR., AGAIN
The comments made over the weekend by Secretary of State Colin Powell (former Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff) and Marine Lieutenant General (three stars) James Conway, were clearly meant for Bush Jr.
Powell on Sunday restated his long standing objection to the draft policies that allowed the “sons of the powerful” to escape combat in Vietnam.
Let’s see – two candidates for President, both sons of well-to-do parents: one, John Kerry, served in Vietnam and the other, Bush Jr., was AWOL in Alabama.
Way to go Powell!
The other General, James Conway, left Iraq with a parting shot at Bush Jr., stating that the Fallujah military effort last spring was opposed by the military on the ground.
Remember after those four Americans were killed and hanged, Bush Jr. went on TV and said he was ordering the capture of those responsible.
Bush Jr. sent the Marines in, regardless of the foolishness and dangers of the effort. The Marines suffered a lot of casualties and then Bush Jr. ordered the Marines to pull back, to outside of the city -- where they remain today.
Were the killers of the four Americans captured? NO. Bush Jr. failed again, but he cost the lives of dozens of Marines. It was a political decision to misuse the Marines.
Fallujah today is a training camp for terrorists.

AL QAEDA STARTS SHOPPING AT GUN FLEA MARKETS
The 10-year federal ban on some specific assault weapons, authored by California’s U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, expired on Monday, September 13, 2004.
The ban expired for one simple reason: Bush Jr. didn’t want it to be law.
Now, al Qaeda operatives will no longer need to smuggle AK-47’s and M16’s into the U.S.
Instead, enemies of the United States can go to their local “Gun Flea Market” and purchase assault weapons from the back of a pick-up truck.
Our troops may pick up an AK-47 in Afghanistan or Iraq but are not allowed to bring those weapons back to the U.S.
However, thanks to the weak and rudderless leadership of Bush Jr., someone with the intent to commit crimes can buy assault weapons, boxes of ammunition, hate literature and a six-pack of beer – all at convenient “one-stop” shopping.

MINORITIES ONCE AGAIN MEET AFFIRMATIVE ACTION GOALS
Of the over 1,000 Americans who have died in Iraq (in a war that Bush Jr. says he “miscalculated”), about 13% were African-American and 12% were Hispanic.
These percentages are the equivalent to their percentage of the U.S. population according to the Census Bureau.
Of the 58,000 Americans who died in Vietnam, 13% were African-American.
So once again minorities reach the “Affirmative Action” goals of the U.S. government for those killed in combat. By the way, West Point also has “Affirmative Action” goals, but the Republicans want to end them there, but not in combat.
Meanwhile Bush Jr. and the Republican Party continue to chip away at Affirmative Action programs in the educational world.
Another fact that you won’t hear from the Republicans is that while African-American women make up 13% of the U.S. female population, they constitute 44% of the women in the U.S. Army.
That’s right: almost half of the women in the U.S. Army are African-American – a rate of over three times their population percentage.

BUSH JR.’S “MISCALCULATIONS” IN IRAQ – SEVEN MORE MARINES ARE KILLED
Recently, Bush Jr. said he “miscalculated” his invasion of Iraq.
His “miscalculations” have led to another seven Marines killed on Monday in Iraq. We are about to hit 1,000 American deaths and 7,000 wounded (i.e. Purple Hearts) in Iraq. About 80 percent of these casualties have been since the moron stood before that made for TV ad banner proclaiming “Mission Accomplished.” (5/1/03, 30 miles off the coast of San Diego.)
Also, in the last few days the Pentagon announced that four Navy Seals have been charged for prisoner abuse that led to the death of one Iraqi. Several Generals will also be charged in these recent prison abuse scandals.
We all know that it was Bush Jr. who authorized breaking the Geneva Convention rules.
But as is typical with Bush Jr., he fails to take any responsibility. Instead men who spent years in training to defend America now have ruined careers.
As the 9/6/04 Newsweek points out – even Bush Sr. acknowledges his son’s failures.
A friend of Bush Sr. told Newsweek: “It’s an agony for him” (Bush Sr.) to watch 43 (Bush Jr.) make policy on Iraq. “It’s doubly frustrating to him because that’s not the way he’d run it if he was still in charge.”
America can do better – vote Kerry on November 2nd.

NEW YORK CITY AND NEW YORK STATE VOTING FOR JOHN KERRY
Bush Jr. deliberately picked New York City for the Republican convention in an attempt to politically exploit 9/11.
The same was done on May 1, 2003 with that foolish “Mission Accomplished” banner.
In Bush’s acceptance speech last night we didn’t hear him using the words “Mission Accomplished.”
But we did hear all week from Democrats in New York on “mission not accomplished” on fighting terrorism; Iraq; the economy - especially jobs; stem cell research; education; and protecting the environment.
But Bush Jr. did tell the excited Republican delegates that things are going well in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East (remember Bush Jr. doesn’t read newspapers).
Bush also reminded us all of his support for a constitutional amendment to make abortion a crime (yes, women and doctors would go to jail) and of his homophobic agenda to eliminate even laws allowing civil unions.
Bush Jr. has failed America and is an incompetent, stubborn president.
Ironically, despite the Republican’s attempted exploitation of 9/11, the very people who saw and suffered firsthand the 9/11 attacks -- the people of New York City and New York State -- will still be voting overwhelmingly for John Kerry.

SCHWARZNEGGER WANTS MILITARY TO BE ALL REPUBLICAN
One of the most outrageous remarks Schwarzenegger made in his speech was that if you really wanted to fight terrorism you need to be a Republican.
Well, many of those coffins coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan have Democrats and Independents in them, something Schwarzenegger may be unaware of.
Schwarzenegger owes a big apology to all those men and women serving in the military who are not Republicans.
Or Schwarzenegger could ask Bush Jr. to immediately give an honorable discharge to all those in the military who are not Republicans and then fill the ranks up from republican activists who are captains and generals or living on their yachts and urge them to join and get to Iraq as soon as possible.

NO "ROSA PARKS" AT THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION
Bush Jr. is pushing a Republican Platform that is the most extreme ever. Besides wanting to send women who choose an abortion to jail, Bush Jr. has added a constitutional amendment to outlaw gay marriage, and is even coming out against civil unions.
Previously Bush Jr. has put strict controls on stem cell research, just as Jerry Falwell wanted.
In an attempt to cover this up, Bush Jr. has four “wanna-be presidents” speaking this week: MacCain, Giuliani, Schwarzenegger and Pataki, who allegedly do not support these extreme policies.
None of the four this week will criticize Bush Jr.’s extreme policies.
Too bad for Americans, that none of them have the courage to “sit” like Rosa Parks did to stand up to discrimination on buses.
