PRESIDENT CLINTON, THE PREACHER

Bill Clinton gave a sermon on Sunday in a church in New York.

Brilliant! See for yourself.

He challenged the so-called “values” people and Republican Party to start showing some values to all Americans, not just other’s “chosen few.”

BUSH JR. CREATES NEW TERRORIST CAMPS

Not only has Bush Jr. misled the American people by claiming a “catastrophic success” in Iraq, but his catastrophic Iraq policies have led to new training camps for al-Qaeda operatives in places like Falluja in Iraq.

In fact, American commanders outside Falluja told the NY Times on Aug. 29 “In Western Iraq, Fundamentalists Hold U.S. At Bay.”

So not only did Bush Jr. fail to complete the job in Afghanistan, where the Taliban once again have a free hand and the heroin exports are at record levels, but now Iraq has been turned into terrorists camps.

BUSH JR., IN REVERSE “MUTINY,” CALLS HIS “CREW” LIARS

In an interview with the New York Times, Bush Jr. basically called his own Republican “Swift Boat” crew all liars.

Yes, Bush Jr. told the New York Times, “I think Senator Kerry should be proud of his record (in Vietnam). No, I don’t think he (Kerry) lied.”

BUSH JR. AND KARL ROVE MAKING LT. GENERAL SANCHEZ THEIR FALL GUY

Lt. General Ricardo Sanchez (former Iraq Commander), who served America in the military for over 30 years, will take the fall for the abuse at the Abu Ghraib prison.

It should be no surprise to anyone that the Republicans would use a Hispanic to take the fall for Bush Jr., Karl Rove and Rumsfeld.

Tragic that Lt. Gen. Sanchez would have spent all these years serving his country only to have his military career come to an end by being forced by Bush Jr. to walk the plank for them.

SCHWARZENEGGER TO TALK ABOUT WHY HE BECAME A REPUBLICAN

Schwarzenegger announced that he would give a “personal” speech at the Republican Convention in New York on Tuesday about why he became a Republican.

Schwarzenegger does not need to go to New York to announce that. For years Schwarzenegger has said when he got to America in the late 1960’s he saw Nixon on TV and that is why he became an American.

Why does Schwarzenegger admire Nixon -- a Republican President who lied and left office in disgrace -- so much?

AMERICANS DOING WORSE THAN THOUGHT

Bush Jr.’s Census Bureau released new figures on Thursday.

• American wages have declined in real value 7.8 percent since Bush Jr. moved into the White House.

• Another 4.3 million Americans are now living in poverty, or one in eight Americans.

• Another 5.2 million Americans are now without health insurance.

I HAVE A LONDON BRIDGE TO SELL YOU!

Bush Jr. and Karl Rove are claiming they were shocked to find out their campaign lawyer, Benjamin Ginsberg, was working for the Swift Boat Liars.

Sure! And I have a London Bridge to sell you.

Clearly, it won’t be long for the bloodhounds to track down the "smoking gun" memos linking Bush Jr. directly to the liars.

They’re starting to look like the Keystone Cops. Rove and Ginsberg better get themselves a Philadelphia lawyer. It is all “Fear and Smear” by little boy Bush Jr.

DOW IN BAD SHAPE

When Bush Jr. took over the White House on January 20, 2001, the Dow was at 10,587 — yesterday, it ended the day at 10,182.

During the Clinton/Gore years, the Dow went up an average of 15.9% per year. Under Bush Sr. the Dow went up annually 9.7% on average.

After almost four years under Bush Jr., the Dow Jones is at a net loss. So when you hear Bush Jr. say, “we have turned the corner on the economy,” he means we are going over the cliff.

Nixon had an average decrease of 3.2% annually. Rove and Bush Jr. think highly of Nixon.

LOOKS LIKE A DUCK

And walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is Bush Jr.’s duck.

Bush Jr.’s “Swift Boaters for Lies” is being exposed for more and more connections to Bush Jr.

Now it turns out their treasurer is Susan Arceneaux, a long time aide of Dick Armey, a former Congressman from Texas and a close friend of Bush Jr. Arceneaux also is tied in with a number of other Republican groups close to Bush Jr. (NY Times 8/24/04).

And late Tuesday, Bush Jr.’s campaign lawyer, Benjamin Ginsberg, admitted he’s giving legal advice to the liars.

The Swift Boat Liars are also trying to destroy the word of former Green Beret (and Republican) Jim Rassman, who John Kerry pulled out of a river in Vietnam while under fire. They should be court-martialed for their attacks on Jim. What’s their price - perhaps Karl Rove promised them a stay in the Lincoln Bedroom.

KERRY SPEAKS AT HISTORICAL “COOPER UNION” IN NEW YORK CITY

On Tuesday, John Kerry gave a speech titled “The Fundamental Choice” at Cooper Union, a world renowned private University. Kerry stated Bush Jr. has turned to the tactics of "fear and smear."

While the Bush Jr. people are spending all their time on attacks, Kerry continues to talk about how America Can Do Better.

Americans want to hear what and how the new President will help them.

Cooper Union offers degree programs in architecture, fine arts and engineering to 900 students. All 900 students are offered full-tuition scholarships.

The NAACP and the Red Cross were initially organized at the Cooper Union. Thomas Edison was a student there and five Presidents spoke there as candidates.

BUSH JR. ORDERS A PAY CUT FOR SIX MILLION AMERICANS

With a stroke of a pen, Bush Jr. changed federal overtime regulations this week and eliminated overtime pay for about six million Americans.

It’s bad enough that 16 million Americans are out of work, underemployed or have given up looking for a job, or that middle America has lost in real income over the last few years.

Now, Bush Jr. has to go even further and cut the incomes of another hard working six million Americans.

America Can Do Better – and President John Kerry will reverse these rules in January.

REPUBLICAN “SWIFT BOAT” FULL OF HOLES AND LIES

Bush Jr. checked off the box on his military form – “DON’T SEND ME TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY” (i.e., I want to stay home with my mommy).

John Kerry checked off the box “SEND ME TO VIETNAM” and once there he checked off another box “SEND ME OUT WITH A SWIFT BOAT.”

I was drafted in 1966 and given a two-year assignment at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. I later grabbed a form and checked off (i.e. v olunteered) “Send me to the Paratroopers and to Vietnam,” so I know about those boxes on military forms.

Like John Kerry, the military said yes to me and that’s how I ended up in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne (1967-68), later wounded and later realized the war was a fiasco and another “March of Folly. ”

John Kerry and his Swift Boat crew saw a lot of combat. Bush Jr. saw none and still won’t explain why he skipped his pilot’s physical (which included for the first time a drug test) and about seven months of military service in Alabama while he was working on the Senate campaign of Republican Winton Blount.

Bob Dole (the old one Nixon loved so much for his viciousness) on Sunday TV went into the gutter on behalf of AWOL Bush Jr. and attacked John Kerry’s service in Vietnam.

BUSH JR.'S RELIGIOUS ADVISOR QUITS – SEX SCANDAL

Karl Rove brought in Deal Hudson to be Bush Jr.’s top religious advisor in 2000.

For four years Hudson was on the conference calls and telling Bush Jr. what to say and how to get Catholic votes.

Bush Jr. saw him as a close friend.

Well, as it turns out, Bush Jr.’s friend resigned from Fordham University, a Jesuit school, after being charged with sexual harassment by a college coed.

Hudson is no longer with the Bush Jr. campaign.

We know Bush Jr. gets bad advice on Iraq, the environment, education, the economy, and stem cell research. Now, we can add religion to the list.

CHENEY CALLS ARMY – PAY HALLIBURTON

The U.S. Army was again questioning the billing of Cheney’s Halliburton for Iraq costs.

Let’s see: Halliburton bribes, cost overruns, cheating, empty convoys, padding the bills and generally stealing, but “who cares?”

Evidently Cheney called the Army and said “pay Halliburton.” After all, Cheney needs a job after January 20th.

Too bad Cheney’s top priority when he wakes up in the morning isn’t about American troops, it’s “how’s my Halliburton doing?”

KERRY TO VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS – HELP IS ON THE WAY

Earlier this week, Bush Jr. spoke at the VFW National Convention in Ohio and talked about moving 70,000 troops around.

John Kerry spoke to the VFW on Wednesday about real items – their needs.

Kerry using Bush Jr.’s words about “the job is getting done” said the job will not be done until:

500,000 veterans are not excluded from the Veterans Administration health care system and VA hospitals are not being closed; and

320,000 veterans are no longer waiting for decisions on disability claims; and

100,000 veterans are not awaiting appeal decisions.

Bush Jr., like most Republican Presidents, has been cutting VA funding.

John Kerry is a lifetime member of VFW. Bush Jr. is not qualified to be a member.

NEW CALIFORNIA POLL HEADLINES BUSH JR.’S POLITICAL TOMBSTONE

The latest statewide poll by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) shows Kerry increasing his lead in California.

Kerry gained points since the last PPIC poll and now leads Bush Jr., 54 percent to 38 percent -- yes a 16 point lead.

And 63 percent of Californians disapprove of the way Bush Jr. is handling the Iraq situation, up 18 points from one year ago, and 61 percent of Californians say it was not worth going to war in Iraq.

Basically, Californians are no longer listening to what Bush Jr. says – just see him as a “Pinocchio.”

RUMSFELD DRAGGING HIS HEELS AGAIN

Bush Jr.’s Secretary of Defense told the Senate Armed Forces Committee to be cautious of the 9/11 Commission recommendations.

So Rumsfeld, who missed all the signs of an attack pre-9/11, then publicly alienated many of our normal allies so we got little help in Iraq and then shortchanged our troops in Iraq on necessary supplies, now expects us to listen to more of his incompetent advice.

The best thing for this country - and our security - is for Rumsfeld to be fired.

BUSH JR. LOSES IN VENEZUELA

Venezuela President Chavez survived a nationwide recall over the weekend.

It was no mystery to the voters in Venezuela that Bush Jr. wanted Chavez recalled but Chavez got 58% of the vote against the recall.

The irony of this White House mistake (one of many) is that the high oil prices that Bush Jr.’s oil friends have been getting, poured billions of extra dollars into the Venezuela, thus boosting Chavez’ ability to spend more on projects for the people.

These are the same oil companies backing Bush Jr. this election.

“NAJAF BATTLE RESUMES; SOME IRAQI TROOPS QUIT” (Sacramento Bee Headline 8/16/04)

As Bush Jr. runs around the country saying we’ll have the Iraqi troops take care of it, it is failing in Iraq.

Nixon called it Vietnamization – that failed also.

Since Bush Jr. doesn’t read newspapers, intelligence memos or books, he has no idea that people tend to side with “family” and not the foreign troops.

The exceptions are paid mercenaries.

In Najaf, as in previous battles earlier this year, many of the government troops decided to take a walk over the weekend instead of battle with other Iraqis.

Since Bush Jr. does follow sports, you’d think he would pick up on it, but that might be too much to expect.

After Bush Jr. has often said, he’s doing the best he can, and I believe him.

In fact, two-thirds of Americans rate the economy as “only fair” or “poor” and 55 percent said they think jobs are difficult to find in the area where they live.

Bush Jr. has argued for the last two years that America has enough troops in Iraq and worldwide.

Then he moves troops from South Korea to Iraq and orders thousands of others to stay in Iraq beyond the date promised them, when they would leave.

And in Iraq, many ammunition dumps are unguarded where insurgents go pick up weapons to use to kill and wound Americans.

LAURA BUSH’S VIEWS - AN EMBARRASSMENT

Laura Bush, like her mother-in-law Barbara Bush, is taking the company line and opposes expanding stem cell research.

It is a tragedy that she would embarrass herself with this position, but that’s what the Bushes do.

Prior to 1980, Bush Sr. was pro-choice. Then Reagan picked him as his vice presidential running mate and Bush Sr. changed his position to anti-choice.

However, after George and Barbara Bush left the White House in January 1993, Barbara announced that she was pro-choice (like Clinton and Kerry).

As science looks to stem cell research for possible cures for some 70 different diseases, the religious right is calling the shots in the Republican circles.

In some countries around the world, religious zealots campaign against children being given polio vaccines. The California Republican Party came out against Proposition 71 on the California ballot, which when passed, will put California in the lead on research.

It appears that Bush Jr., Laura and the Republican Party think the devil is behind this type of medical research.

BUSH JR. KNOWS HIS DAYS IN OFFICE ARE NUMBERED

With the Dow below 10,000 and few jobs being created, Bush Jr. is turning over regulations left and right to help his corporate polluter friends before he exits the White House on January 20, 2005.

Bush Jr. is even opening up the National Forest in New Mexico for natural gas exploration to a Houston friend. Everyone from the U.S. Forest Service to New Mexico officials are against it. The site in Valle Vidal is next door to America’s largest Boy Scout Camp.

And black lung disease – the hell with the regulations. Bush Jr. is now advocating changes in regulations to allow coal-dust levels to rise substantially in coal mines.

Not only will Bush Jr. leave offfice with our country in an economic mess and chaos in Iraq, the environment will pay a heavy price over the next few months and even the Boys Scouts will be thrown out with the baby and the bath water.

BUSH JR. OUTSOURCING JOBS AT RECORD RATE

As Bush Jr. continues to claim at rallies that his economic plan is working, his own White House announced last Friday that only 32,000 jobs were created in July in the whole country.

At the beginning of the year, Bush Jr. said he would create 2.6 million new jobs this year or 212,000 a month.

Bush Jr. has failed miserably. In July alone, 175,000 Americans didn’t get the jobs Bush Jr. promised them.

A reminder – under President Clinton, 23 million new jobs were created in eight years, or 239,000 a month. Bush Jr. knows he’s trying to mislead (or lie to) the American people, as he did on the reasons to invade Iraq.

Also in July, Bush Jr. borrowed $35 billion and put it on all our credit cards (including the troops returning from Afghanistan in Iraq), again due to the failures of his Herbert Hoover Economic Plan.

Do the math: Bush’s “Economic Plan” borrowed $1.1 million for each of the 32,000 jobs created -- very expensive jobs.

At this rate, it will take President John Kerry eight years (two terms) to get the country out of Bush’s economic mess.

IS TOM RIDGE A POLITICAL MOUTHPIECE?

On Sunday, Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge announced new terror alerts for some financial buildings.

Then on Monday, Bush Jr. announced he agrees with some suggestions by the 9/11 Commission, including John Kerry’s proposal for an Intelligence Czar.

Then on Tuesday, the news broke that the Ridge announcement was based on information three or four years old. I guess a couple of days after John Kerry was nominated was as good as any day for Bush Jr. to have Ridge announce the 3-year old information.

Bush Jr. said he didn’t want the Intelligence Czar in the White House where the Czar would be under political pressure. So Bush Jr. is admitting that the White House manipulates intelligence data for political reasons!

Additionally, there were another 139 others (alternates, committee members, etc.).

These people did their job very well – the best in the Convention Center. They showed up on time, held signs up, yelled with enthusiasm, etc.

Thank you.

GENERAL TOMMY FRANKS JOINS THE BUSH JR. CRITICS

General Thomas Franks, now retired and speaking frankly, has a book --"American Soldier” -- out this week.

Franks admits that prior to the invasion of Iraq, the Pentagon discussed the need for 250,000 troops, directly contradicting what Bush Jr. has claimed.

Franks also drops a bombshell about Bush Jr., “we had neither the money nor a comprehensive set of policy decisions that would provide for every aspect of reconstruction, civic action and governance.”

Franks also admits that during the Afghanistan war, he and Rumsfeld were at each other’s throats so much that Franks offered to resign.

Franks thus confirms what we all have known – Bush Jr. didn’t pay attention to intelligence pre-9/11 and didn’t lay out any real plans for Iraq or Afghanistan.
